What the Foundation does.
The Foundation works alongside the disease foundations, patient organizations, and academic centers already advancing the field — funding the cross-disease science that reaches across disease boundaries, and strengthening the ecosystem rather than working around it. Its work is scientific and collaborative — funding research, convening the field, and building shared infrastructure — while the advocacy and disease-specific programs that patient organizations and disease foundations lead remain theirs.

That founding support reflects mission alignment and long-term commitment, while the Foundation remains an independent public charity governed by its own Board of Trustees and accountable to its charitable mission.
